FLOOR

Floor was formed in 1992 by Steve Brooks (guitar), Anthony Vialon (bass), and Betty Monteavaro (drums). Jeff Sousa became the drummer in late 1993, and Steve and Anthony switched to just having two low-tuned guitars with no bassist. Several vinyl-only 7" EPs were released until their first break in 1996. They reformed with a new line-up for one show in 1997 with Henry Wilson on drums and practiced only occasionally until 2001. This time they finally released their first full-length album, self-titled 'Floor', before splitting in 2003. Steve Brooks went on to form the band Torche. Henry Wilson went on to form the bands Dove and House of Lightning. Reunited in 2010, with the release of the Below & Beyond Box Set, and began touring again.

THRONES

Thrones is the solo project of bassist Joe Preston from Portland, Oregon, United States.

Thrones began in 1994 with an untitled cassette on the Punk in My Vitamins? label. They soon released the Reddleman single. In 1996, Thrones signed to Communion Records to issue the full-length album Alraune. Thrones then signed to Kill Rock Stars and released the single The Suckling. In late 1997, Preston began a recording project under the working title White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit. The project was eventually released as two 12 inch EPs; White Rabbit in 1999, followed by Sperm Whale in 2000. Both EPs were compiled in the Sperm Whale CD. In 2005, a compilation of various Thrones material spanning from 1994 to 2001 was released by Southern Lord Records under the title Day Late, Dollar Short.

After an extended hiatus beginning in 2001, Thrones began regularly performing live again in May 2006, although there were sporadic live appearances during this period supporting bands such as Sunn O))). Preston has also performed as part of Sunn O))) using Moog synthesizers and has previously been a member of Earth, Melvins and High on Fire. Most recently he has been playing with the reunited Harvey Milk.

HOT VICTORY

When it comes to the songwriting process, drummers typically get the short end of the stick (excuse the pun). Crash, bang, boom is supposedly all they've really got. Since singers, guitarists, and bass players can make all those fancy notes, they get to strut around out front and get all the credit. Enter Hot Victory, a stringed instrument's worst nightmare. The band features two drummers, Caitlin Love and Ben Stoller. Equipped with a symmetrical setup including electronic and acoustic drums, a shared hi-hat, and some samples and loops to play over, the duo create hypnotic, prog-tastic space journeys that fascinate and perplex. A Hot Victory set is a mindbender that will leave any "fretters" in the room scratching their heads, and any skinsmen, or women, high-fiving each other. Score one "Hot Victory" for all tub-thumpers!
