Chop Suey Presents

Mother of Pearl

Born from the minds & hearts of five abnormally gifted Seattle musicians, Mother Of Pearl has been leaving a rare, powerful impression on the minds & hearts of music lovers throughout the Seattle area, beginning with their live debut in November 2013.

Drawing from a widely-cast net of influences (listeners have reported traces of rock/pop/jazz/r&b/electronica, among many other genres) and an embarrassment of riches in the musicianship department (each member ranks among Seattle's most in-demand studio musicians), the band has quickly established renown for their meticulously crafted & distinctive songwriting, their commanding live shows & their utterly seamless ensemble mentality.

Mother Of Pearl are currently preparing for the release of their debut single "Our Love/These Walls" (coming soon on 7" vinyl & digital download).

C-Leb & the Kettle Black

Seattle-based blues-styled band, C-Leb and his buddies borrow heavily from traditional blues, but dress it up in modern rhythms, dance beats and driving rock funk. This is the outfit’s debut album and is a powerful collection of self-penned tunes that runs the gamut from driving rock to heavy blues through to some jazzy-styled numbers. The abrasive “Hell Don’t Pay Taxes” borrows lyrically from Merle Travis “16 Tons,” whilst the pounding “One For the Road” nods affectionately in the direction of Creedence Clearwater Revival. The kicking “Man Down” is just a little lighter, allowing the lead guitar work to shine out front of the swirling and hypnotic keyboards and the staccato rhythmic attack. A compelling rock record very much for today headbangers.
