Skill level: beginner to advanced

During the Sengoku (Warring States) period of Japan circa 1467–1603, it was often considered extremely unfortunate and insulting for knots to be placed onto the body of prestigious military prisoners captured in the heat of battle. In attempts to forestall even greater enmity from their enemy quick release knot-free bondage techniques were implemented for arresting, transportation, and official presentation.

Structured around a relaxed yet formal dojo atmosphere - participants will explore the art of constructing a balanced set of quick-release shibari derived from classical source material.

Instructors note: A willingness to both tie and be tied will be instrumental in more fully apprehending and appreciating the techniques, however those who only wish to tie may certainly bring a bottom/partner.

Cost at the door: $30.

About the Instructor:

Movement arts educator, body-burn specialist, and occasional stuntman - Eric J. (FuriousBuddha) enjoys splicing together his many years of studying archaic Japanese martial arts and ways with a long-time passionate fascination for occult esoterica and the beguiling coils of erotic rope bondage.
