Jared Bender, Plumb, Level, & Square
Jared Bender returns to LxWxH for his solo show 'Plumb, Level, & Square' during the month of December. THIS IS LxWxH GALLERY'S FINAL EXHIBITION after 4 years as an online venue, and 2 years as a brick and mortar space in Georgetown.

'Plumb, Level, & Square' features a series of free-standing and wall-based sculptures made from re-purposed hardwoods, beeswax, denim, brass, steel, or lead; leftovers from other projects or job sites. Their irregularities — length, shape, splits, live edges, and marks — guide Bender’s decisions about what they will become. This body of work continues the artist's ongoing dialogue on the nature of being a builder and craftsman, manual labor, and his love of materials.

About the artist:

Jared Bender is a Seattle-based sculptor. He received his MFA from the University of Washington in 2013 and has since shown with LxWxH at the Affordable Art Fair, as well as NEPO 5K Don’t Run, and ‘Vigil’ curated by Sierra Stinson at Love City Love.
Bender says of his work: “My work has everything to do with materiality. I work with certain sets of materials for the sake of their ability to be manipulated. Something that is “able” – hammerable, drillable, machineable, weldable, grindable, and so on. Other materials exist in my work because of their relationship to one another – a piece of rough-cut lumber to steel, or beeswax to denim.”

A Very Open House
Get ready folks! The doors of Equinox will be open for another amazing “Very Open House” and like previous years it’s going to be epic! We have over 50 artists and artisans, guest artists, music, poetry, dance, demos, food trucks, and a whole lot more!

COLLECT is a social and cultural event that encourages new potential art collectors to get started on their collection. The goal is to introduce people who haven't felt comfortable or informed enough to approach art in a new way. Smaller galleries are often overlooked but they provide a special opportunity to discover emerging, early and mid-career artists who produce high quality work at a more manageable price point.
