This event has passed.

March 12 - 14 & 19 - 22 / 8pm
March 15 / 4pm (followed by a special discussion)

This controversial, almost-banned, piece of theater, returns. Sean wants to purposefully contract Rob's HIV. Rob doesn't want to put Sean at risk, for fear of the stigma against them both. When they get in bed, will their connection be the most important? Or will it be undetectable? Safe looks to deconstruct what "safe sex" really means.

  • Gary Zinter – Director
  • Seth Tankus - Playwright
  • Ryan McAtee – Sean (Main Character)
  • Todd Hull – Rob (Love interest)
  • John McKenna – Marlot (Father)
  • JenRenee Paulson – Ronnie (Mother)

After the show on Sunday, March 15, we will be hosting a facilitated dialog with the artist. This discussion will start with the issues of the age divide in the gay male community. Is HIV now a nonissue for the younger generation? And how many people are now on PrEP? And how does that change the shape HIV from a younger generation to an older generation? Is stigma against HIV still affecting people? What is the divide between the older gay male community and a younger generation that is mostly identifying as Queer? How is HIV different based on the color of your skin? Or as a Trans person? Please come and have a conversation about building bridges between all the parts of our community!
