Science of Cannabis Institute Cannabis Worker 101 Professional Training

Welcome to the Science of Cannabis Institute! We are now enrolling students for our Canna Worker 101 course, to be held on June 27, 2015 at 10:00AM. It will take place at the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture, in Seattle, Washington.

When you have completed this course, you will have:

Obtained a baseline of knowledge about cannabis as plant, as a medicine and as an industry.

Begun your exploration of plant physiology and how it relates to and affects the human endocannabinoid system.

Learned the basics about how to comply with Washington State I- 502 regulations.

Become aware of the basics of customer service that are specific to the cannabis industry, and know about the product types that are available.

Discovered the various types of cannabis careers which are emerging within the industry.

Upon completion of this course, apprentices will receive their certification.

Who Should Take This Class?

Anyone interested in being in the cannabis industry should take this class. The class provides critical information to understand the regulatory system for legal marijuana in Washington. This is industry is for everyone! It requires all types of skill sets and experience. The cannabis industry is poised to be similar to other commodities markets with employment needs in all sectors of business.

About the Canna Worker 101 Professional Training Course

The Science of Cannabis Institute Canna Worker 101 course provides an overview of the plant, cannabis industry statistics, licensing and regulation at all levels, what you can expect as an employee, and industry stewardship. SCIA teaches people the information necessary to be a successful employee in this new industry. Graduates who successfully complete the Cannabis Worker 101 course will have the advantage of knowing the rules of the industry before stepping into a job interview.

After you complete this course, a number of courses will be available for those looking to specialize in a specific area of the industry. SCI Professional courses (SCIP) are longer and in-depth on specific subjects. Every student has the ability to take any course. Outstanding students may be hand selected to become mentors and educators for SCI once they have completed the appropriate course work.
