Acts of Desperation - October

This event has passed.

Join performers KAT, MASTER PAYNE, and PROFESSOR VANDERBECK as they take their audience on a 90-minute surreal journey exploring the themes of madness and immortality, while surrounded by the unearthly artifacts found in Spooked in Seattle's famous Death Museum.

KAT, a professional belly dancer and snake charmer, aims to delight you with enchanting, thrilling, and captivating performance of this ancient dance.

MASTER PAYNE is a Purveyor of Japes, Cheap Tricks and Minor Amazements. He has the honor of being the first Guest Geek with the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow and appeared frequently with them in their early years in Seattle. He brings his odd, macabre and oft times offbeat skills at magic to Spooked in Seattle's "Acts of Desperation" show.  So whether its watching him link and unlink solid rings together while reciting Poe's the Raven or tempting fate as he tries to locate a previously selected card with a lethal leg hold trap. You are sure to be strangely delighted by his dark and disturbing antics.

PROFESSOR VANDERBECK has been obsessed with mathematics since he was a child, and believes that proper understanding of the underlying principles of the Universe allows him to penetrate the veil of the future and garner insight into the mysteries of space, time, energy, mind and spirit. He will discover the hidden fears of select audience members, attempt to make contact with a resident of one of the most famous lunatic asylums in history, and finally settle the philosophical debate of free will versus predestination.

Henry D. Thoreau once said "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." While these particular performers may be desperate, they are far from quiet, and you won't be either as you witness their offerings while in the depths of the Seattle underground.
