Gay City Arts presents Out to Dance: Dance Double Feature

Gay City Arts presents Out To Dance, a queer, dance double-feature featuring TwoFold Pulp from Ariana Bird and Kiss the Boys, Make them Cry: Iteration 2 (cryinboyzclub) from Nathan Blackwell.

TwoFold Pulp is a deeply personal solo work choreographed and performed by Ariana Bird that has continually been building layers over the past two years. At its core, this work has been developed through a collection of free writes, drawings, and journal entries that are derived from her experiences as a queer woman who was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder. In doing so, she has been finding ways to become more transparent with her hidden identities by sharing her story through uninhibited movement, improvised spoken word, surreal visual elements, and heightened emotions that balance on the edge of performance and re-living her past in the very moment.

In the "post-internet" generation, a nihilistic young man sets out on quest to fall in love. Kiss the Boys, Make them Cry: Iteration 2 (cryinboyzclub) is a performative documentation of that journey; including and not limited to one night stands, broken hearts, internet stalking and drunk texting. An evening length performance that wanders through the dark realities of dating in the millennial generation. Through dance, theatre, spoken word and intoxication the young man attempts to discover if true love still exists. And while it may be disheartening, it's going to be a fun ride and no one cares anyway. This is NSFW.
