What better way for some of the country's most prominent string musicians to celebrate the holidays than to head home and play some shows with family and friends? Acoustic Music legend Darol Anger joins rising singer-songwriter Emy Phelps in organizing some of the country's best young string musicians in a multigenerational musical experience focusing on the spirit of Midwinter and the turning of the year. Darol's experience with holiday shows from Windham Hill through Newgrange to Yulegrass, his quirky humor, and his genius for organizing exciting bands will be utilized at full bore.
Darol has been a mentor to some of the most exciting and phenomenal string musicians in the world. Multi-award-winning fiddler & Crooked Still cellist Tristan Clarridge, the phenomenal youthful bassist/Edgar Meyer protege Ethan Jodziewicz, and hammer dulcimer wizard Simon Chrisman will join Anger & Phelps in this season's concerts. These powerful presences are brought into synchronization and orbit around Anger’s vision and that unmistakable violin voice. The result is mythical, magical, musical mayhem. Special guests, family and friends will undoubtedly make appearances.
Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is all ages until 10pm.
