ABOUT THE SERIES
In partnership with the Stranger and the Cloud Room, Goodship Higher Education presents intimate conversations with some of our regions most brilliant minds, covering topics from space travel to re-animation to modernist cuisine. Our goal is to present some of the most innovative, mind-bending, revolutionary and extraordinary ideas happening in art, technology, science and philosophy. And we encourage both the audience and speakers to hop “on the Goodship” (aka have previously consumed marijuana). We look at the world through a different lens when high, and we think that it is a fun and enlightening experiment to partner altered states with big ideas.
DESIGN EXCURSION
Welcome to the 5th Facade is a multi-year design project that has taken many unexpected forms. Beginning as a built park project on a large rooftop in Korea, it became a conceptual urban design project, a research project, a fairy tale, a film, a comic book and possibly... a real project again.
Join us Wednesday, September 7, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm as Alan explores the evolution of the creative process, and how the line between fantasy and reality can be blurred if you let creativity guide you. We ask all guests to arrive “pre-boarded” as it is not yet legal to consume cannabis in commercial spaces. This is a private event. Must be 21+ to attend.
Alan Maskin is an owner of Olson Kundig, a Seattle based design firm where he develops museum, exhibit, and installation projects. Maskin also co-curated [storefront], the firm's two year installation program - a studio experiment in design, collaboration, and public practice.
