Evening 8 of 9e2 features:

5:30 pm: The Time of the Force Majeure: Newton Harrison and Janeil Engelstad in Conversation
A special happy hour with the pioneering eco-artist about his forty years of collaborating with Helen Mayer Harrison and biologists, ecologists, architects, urban planners and others to uncover ideas & solutions that support biodiversity and community development. In conversation with artist and curator Janeil Engelstad, founder of Make Art with Purpose, this conversation will explore the intersection of art, science and climate change and the Harrison’s most recent work at subcontinental scales.  
 

DX Arts: Hemispheres (2016)
Juan Pampin, neuroscientists Eberhard Fetz and Thomas Deuel, and other DXArts faculty will use 3D sound technology to produce an immersive sound hemisphere sculpted by brain activity.

Roger Malina: Data Stethoscope for the Brain Connectome
Astrophysicist Roger Malina, neuroscientist Gagan Wig and artists and composers Scot Gresham Lancaster, Tim Perkis, and Andrew Blanton will create a sound piece using specially designed electroacoustic instruments and an interactive 3D video-gaming tool.

Performances will begin around 8 pm. Doors open at 5 for happy hour.
