Kitchen Radio was Seattle's conduit to the Jayhawks and Son Volt during the city's 1990s grunge heyday. Their emphasis on songwriting and craft – fused with heavy grooves – set them on a path to touring and a full-length release on Glitterhouse records, Sub Pop's european partner. Their untimely break-up in 1996 predated the deep indie-roots / alt-country scene Seattle now enjoys. They're coming back to the Royal Room with unfinished business...

The Cheap Ones unvarnished guitar rock has roots deep in Seattle's Roosevelt neighborhood and an influential role in a few local rockstar's trajectories. If fame and fortune ever knocked on their door, they were too busy with beer and pretzels to answer the call. Their resume, however, does include a sold-out Seattle Arena show with Urge Overkill and Pearl Jam.

"So send out a prayer for the band bound nowhere, like the fool with a guitar on the bus"

Christy McWilson and the West Seattle Two Making her name first in Seattle's legendary Dynette Set, Christy then fronted the Picketts, also at the front of Seattle's roots rock "grange" scene in the 1990s. They recorded LPs with Pop Llama and Rounder records before Christy began a fruitful collaboration with Dave Alvin (http://www.davealvin.net/); producing two stellar solo albums, touring with the Guilty Women (https://www.amazon.com/Dave-Alvin-Guilty-Women/dp/B001VBYQD4), and several Roots on the Rails excursions (http://www.rootsontherails.com/).

The West Seattle Two has Christy rocking once again with the Picketts' rhythm section of Walt and Blackie with whom she creates strong vocal harmonies that recall the Everly Brothers.
