Rat City Rollergirls Pinkies Camp

This event has passed.

Would you like to learn how to skate? How about learning how play the fastest growing sport in the world on eight wheels? If you’ve ever seen a roller derby bout and thought “I’d like to try that”, now is your chance!

Rat City Rollergirls, Seattle’s premier roller derby league, is now offering a Pinkies Camp for new skaters!  Beginning April 15th, each Saturday morning one of our amazing coaches will teach you some of the fundamental skills you will need for roller derby. You will also have the option to practice these skills and gain even more at our joint Wednesday night Pinkies and Fundamentals practices. The goal of this 10-week program is to give you the toolbox of knowledge and abilities to set you on your way for a successful derby career, so that you’ll be ready to participate in our monthly assessments at the end of the camp.

If this sounds daunting, never fear! No experience is required. All we ask is that you bring your own gear (skates, knee/elbow pads, wrist guards, mouthguard and helmet) and a willingness to learn. We’ll do the rest! Registration for the camp is open and costs $150 (includes 10 class sessions and a t-shirt). Skaters of all genders 18+ are welcome; please be prepared to sign a waiver and bring proof of primary insurance on your first day of class. If you have any questions, please contact freshmeat@ratcityrollergirls.com.

We look forward to starting your derby journey with you!
