Yolanda’s parents want her to be the first one in the family to go to college. But she’d rather focus on her feisty new neighbor, Mari, whom she finds way more compelling than school (or any of the boys there). Mari has her own troubles—like paying the rent. As their friendship threatens their responsibilities, they must navigate between their desires and their families. Aurora Guerrero’s sparkling debut feature is a tender and genuine look at early intimacy and what makes first loves so memorable. Winner of the Outfest 2012 Jury Prizes for Best First Feature and Best Actress (Fenessa Pineda).
