Southern Indian troupe Sapphire Dance Creations Company brings us the first American appearance of classical Indian Chhau dancers sewn into a contemporary work and the artists Never Formerly Known As Anything serve up some chuckles.

Sapphire Dance Creations (Kolkata, India), is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, presenting Ekonama-The Beginning at the End. The work portrays hope within despair and the potential for environmental sustainability, weaving Bengal Purulia Chhau martial art form with contemporary dance in a story of communities uniting for change.

Rachel Lincoln (Seattle, WA) along with the improvisation collective Never Formerly Known as Anything (NFKAA), presents Great Again, a political tryptic that melds humor and horror, precision and spontaneity, and clarity and chaos in a distinct package.
