Hugo Literary Series 2012-2013: Series Pass

The Hugo Literary Series isn’t your typical reading series. Each year, we commission 12 writers and four musicians to create new writing—and songs, in the musicians’ cases—based on themes and writing prompts cooked up by our staff and present these fledgling works over four events: ¡Viva la Revolucion! (Oct. 19) featuring Steve Almond, Matthew Zapruder, Elaina Ellis and music from Daniel Spils of Maktub; Ya Gotta Believe (Nov. 16) featuring Ryan Boudinot, Emily Kendal Frey, Claire Dederer and music from Mary Lambert; Strong Female Leads (Feb. 8, 2013) featuring Patricia Smith, Kelly Froh, Arlene Kim and music from Katie Kate; and You Are Here (Mar. 1, 2013) featuring Chris Abani, Cheryl Strayed, Jonathan Evison and music from Joy Mills.
