The Stranger Presents: The 10th Annual Genius Awards (VIP Guest)

You are a special guest of The Stranger at our VIP Cocktail Reception prior to this year's Genius Awards, September 22nd from 5:30-7:30pm.
We'll have music by DJ Vital, tasty treats by the chefs at The Tamarind Tree, fine wine from Billy O and Sparkman Cellars, and craft cocktails featuring locally-produced liquor. You do not want to miss the most glamorous awards show to date, so take your seats at 7:30 and be swept away in the drama and by Seattle Rock Orchestra's 50-piece orchestra.
This year we are joined by a 50-piece live orchestra!! That's right. Seattle Rock Orchestra plays new music honoring the 2012 Genius Nominees and a few pop classics to delight the weird art-lovers at our party.
Seattle's most fantastic performers, writers, poets, dancers, visual artists, filmmakers and more will fight to the death for the honor of winning this year's coveted GENIUS AWARD. Just kidding. Really they will be selected by secret ballot over the summer by former Genius winners and we will announce them LIVE from the stage of The Moore theater.
The Awards Show is from 8-10pm show featuring a dance performance created by Kate Wallich, film clips, live music, and the most dramatic awards show ever with presenters Lynn Shelton, Jeffry Mitchell, Susanna Welbourne, Sarah Rudinoff, and Jim Woodring.
Attire is a combination of old-school Hollywood glam mixed with punchy, Seattle arts funk!
