Family Sunday's at the Henry
Sunday, January 13 at 2:00pm
- All Ages
Family Sundays at the Henry are every second Sunday and are especially for adults and children to learn and create together. Each month we will focus on different activities and ways of seeing. Family Sundays are best suited for elementary-aged students, but we encourage older or younger kids to join in.
Love cute little bunnies and reading Babar stories? So does local artist Jeffry Mitchell. Join us to to explore Like a Valentine: The Art of Jeffry Mitchell and identify the recurring animal motifs in his body of work. In this fun, interactive workshop, you will imagine yourselves in a variety of alternative modes of being and then determine your animal alter ego! Using your new-found inner anim(al)stic self, you'll create a decorative frame to take home.
Dig deeper into the art on view at the Henry! Each Family Sunday features a family-centered guided tour that explores a specific theme and exhibition. All tours are followed by a unique-art making activity in our education studio that everyone can enjoy.
Workshops are 1 ½ hours in length and Family Sundays are best suited for elementary-aged students, but we encourage older or younger kids to join in.
Educational public programs at the Henry Art Gallery are made possible with generous support from 4Culture/King County Lodging Tax Fund, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, ArtsFund, The Boeing Company, and the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.
