The Latin Jazz Collective is a project conceived in 2009 by Lary Barilleau, a Seattle based percussionist, composer and award winning educator. The group's goal is to provide quality latin jazz music that reflects the original music of band members. The members are considered some of the finest musicians performing today and many produce exceptional projects of their own. The band has played to sold-out enthusiastic crowds at Bake's Place for the Bellevue Jazz Festival with special guest Hubert Laws and at Tula's Jazz Club.

Barilleau produced his first CD “Carmen's Mambo” in collaboration with Grammy winner Doug Beavers which was released on the local OA2 jazz label in January 2013. The CD has received considerable radio play in the US and Canada and has been in the top 100 for the last 10 weeks on the Jazz Week Charts reaching #46 and on the Canandian Jazz Journal Charts peaking at #11. The CD has also reached #1 on the NewnWorld Music Charts on KTUH radio in Honoulu, # 1 on the WPTC radio chart at Penn State Technical College and #6 on the Washington State Roots Radio Charts.

Musicans in the LJC include award winning Jay Thomas, Marc Seales, Rich Cole, Jeff Norwood, Dan Marcus, Joe "Timba" Santiago, Al Criado, Eric Verlinde, Johnny Conga and Ricardo Guity and Chad McCullough.
