Wine has captivated writers for centuries. Robert Louis Stevenson called wine “bottled poetry.” Hemingway said, “Wine is the most civilized things in the world.” Even Homer once wrote, “Wine can of their wits the wise beguile, make the sage frolic, and the serious smile."
In this tradition, Hugo House presents an evening of fine wine from Siren Songs and readings from Stacey Levine, Nicole Hardy, Kevin Craft, and Kenyon Brown. Each will read new work paired with the wines you'll sip.
Tickets are $15/$10 for Hugo House members and include four flights of wine. Additional wine will be for sale by Siren Songs.

What is Write-O-Rama?
Write-O-Rama is a full day of dozens of workshops offered by Hugo House's writing teachers. Sample Hugo classes, dabble in different forms and genres, and share your fresh, new writing before the ink even dries at an open mic.
One of the best parts? Write-O-Rama is a fundraising event for Richard Hugo House. All money raised through registration goes directly to supporting our mission of fostering writers, building community, and connecting the Pacific Northwest with the world of writing.
Early Bird 10% Discounts are valid until June 7. After this, the prices are as follows:
Write-O-Rama Underwriter: $90 (includes a membership to Hugo House, plus a present that will be waiting for you at check-in!)
Write-O-Rama Supporter: $70 (includes a membership to Hugo House!)
Write-O-Rama Participant: $45
Day-of registration will also be offered at the above prices, beginning at 9:30 a.m., though you can drop in at any time during Write-O-Rama, register, and get writing.

We're expanding! In the 2013-2014 season, the Hugo Literary Series will feature one more evening of groundbreaking new work. For $110 (general)/$90 (member)/$60 (student/teacher/senior), you hold tickets to all five Lit Series nights. At each event, three writers and one musician present new work based on a prompt provided by Richard Hugo House. Featured writers from past events include Sherman Alexie, Patricia Smith, Jess Walter, Heather McHugh, Sam Lipsyte, and Aimee Bender. Hear great work from cutting-edge writers before it hits the pages of your favorite publication.
