Skablins are a ska band that began playing in Arlington Washington’s Mirkwood & Shire Cafe (“The Mirk”) in May 2007. Named after ska and goblins, this high energy party band is suited for dancing, skanking, anthems, chanting, flame & fun and sing-a-longs.
The Georgetown Orbits boast a heavy regimen of traditional ska and soulful reggae. They have gained international attention as one of the few bands to pay tribute to the sounds of Jamaican ska, a style which has gained notable popularity in Seattle since the band’s conception in late 2004.
The Orbits have played with such prominent names as the Skatalites, Clinton Fearon, The Gladiators, Israel Vibration, The Roots Radics, The English Beat, Bad Manners, The Aggrolites, The Pietasters, Chris Murray, Pato Banton, and a west coast tour with New York’s legendary Ska group The Slackers.
They have attracted a diverse fan base of all ages for their quality vintage-modern style of Ska and Reggae music. Their energetic live shows have never failed to impress audiences throughout the western US and Canada.
