Inspired by the spirit of Optimism Brewing, this Climate Science on Tap panel discussion focuses on reasons for Climate Optimism as evidenced by the 2019 WA legislative session, the trend of cities and counties signing on to renewable energy pledges across the country, the way 2020 presidential candidates are calling for action on climate change, and how young people are driving the conversation around this issue. Panelists will include:

  • Greg Rock, Policy Chair, Carbon Washington
  • Megan Smith, King County Directpr of Climate and Energy Initiatives
  • Zoya TeirsteinGrist Politics Reporter 

Wondering what you can do to promote climate action? Organizations will be on hand to answer questions and share ideas and insights about effective climate action, including:

  • The Sunrise Movement,
  • People for Climate Action,
  • Citizens Climate Lobby,
  • 350Seattle-Civic Action Team, and
  • Audubon Washington,

. . . as well as a local nuclear reactor design engineer who will be available to answer questions about why there are high profile environmentalists who are outspoken proponents of nuclear as a climate solution.
