Take Warning Presents

SHEER TERROR

In mid-2004 it was announced that the lineup of Bearer, Neuman, Chickie, and Cronin were again rehearsing and planned on playing a show to serve both as a reunion and as the final farewell the band was never able to give. The reaction from fans led to the booking of another show the following night, and on October 9 and 10, the band played two sold out shows at CBGB, alongside opening bands such as Inhuman and Subzero. Footage from both nights, as well as an extensive documentary, was released as the Beaten By The Fists Of God DVD in 2005. Many high-profile members of the punk rock and hardcore community were featured praising the band in the documentary, including members of Dropkick Murphys, Life of Agony, North Side Kings, and Blood For Blood. Many former members were interviewed as well.

Fans can also get a taste of his often brutish sense of humor through a bootleg record entitled No Really, Go Fuck Yourself, credited to "Reverend Paul Bearer". The record is a compilation of numerous bits of bootlegged stage banter from Bearer.

In 2010 Sheer Terror reformed under Paul Bearer and are currently touring and writing new material. But you already know that.

ILL INTENT

Few hardcore scenes have seen such a surge in young, fresh talent in recent years like the Pacific Northwest. Among the new crop of bands from the region are Seattle, Washington’s ILL INTENT, offering up heavy groove-laden hardcore that references classic the NYHC style while still being uniquely their own sound. Following their signing with 6131 Records in early 2012 the band entered the studio with Taylor Young (XIBALBA, ROTTING OUT, NAILS) to record their debut EP, No Masters, a hard-hitting set of six crushing hardcore tunes not to be overlooked.

LOSING SKIN

Onstage it was a massacre.

In the years before Losing Skin were called what they are and started doing what they do, Alex Boston would beat himself in the face with his microphone until he bled. He’d break drummer Chris Peterson’s cymbals. The guitarist would go flying through his amps.

But when their past bands fizzled, the anger and passion inside the members didn’t — and in 2009, it materialized as Losing Skin, a band bending the confines of hardcore, twisting a heavy sound with goth and metal sensibilities. What happened was something blacker, darker and more metallic than ever before: songs of burning bones, tombstone cities, faces smashing into concrete and fluorescent light bulbs being affixed to the insides of eyelids.

Since the Spokane band’s inception, they’ve released a full length album, a split 7" with Seattle's Parasitic Skies, numerous digital EP's, earned a regular spot at Seattle’s punk and hardcore festival Rain Fest and were one of five bands chosen as a “Band to Watch” in 2012 by the Spokane alternative newsweekly, The Inlander.

And, yeah, things occasionally still get thrown around: mic stands go flying, spit ends up on the crowd. Today, that’s not the focus of this band — but to truly understand Losing Skin is to literally feel what they’re doing up there onstage.
