Jimmy James, the long time heavy weight rhythm and blues guitarist, based in Seattle, presents an evening of dialogue on music, from the notes to the business to the music's interaction with our daily lives.
Jimmy James is a proud Seattle native. As a kid, he got into music when he heard Motown's House Band, The Funk Brothers. Their guitarist Robert White's line in The Temptation's "My Girl" spoke to him on a deep level. He's a fan of Soul music, Rhythm & Blues, Traditional Blues, and Rock & Roll. Jimmy loves talking about music and the old masters of the craft. His philosophy in music comes from a quote by bass legend, James Jamerson "If You Don't Feel it, Don't Play It." He says "You can't get more to the point than that!".
Jimmy James has played with F2D, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Grace Love and The True Loves, Tiffany Wilson, Skerik, Sharon Jones, Big World Breaks, Choklate, Owuor Arunga, The California Honeydrops and more.
Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is All Ages until 10pm.
