Laraaji

Edward L Gordon's first album as Laraaji was Ambient 3: Day of Radiance, the third in Brian Eno's ambient series. His extensive discography focuses on the celestial sound of his modified 36 string AutoHarp, with alternative tunings and innovative electronic enhancements. In addition to his signature sound, he has also developed a series of Meditative Laughter Playshops presented in the US and abroad. Laraaji serves as senior faculty presenter at the prestigious International Healing Sounds Intensive founded by pioneer sound healing musician Jonathan Goldman, held annually in Colorado, for most of its 20 years.

Bardo:Basho

https://soundcloud.com/bardobasho

Bardo:Basho composes primarily loop-based music designed to create a sense of stasis and a state of hypnosis in the listener. She combines field recordings and disorienting sound design with ethereal and often pretty melodies and harmonies using software synths and her own voice. Bardo:Basho's compositional structures often fall between long-form, slow-evolving compositions commonly found in free jazz, raga, and dance music traditions, and more immediate, rigidly structured changes commonly found in pop and classical music.

Her music embraces the timbral qualities of new age, techno, art pop, drone, and software-based noise music. Her debut self-titled album was released in March of 2015. Thom is also the co-founder of Elevator, a production company in Seattle, WA that hosts an event series in addition to an annual winter festival called Corridor.

DJ Explorateur

Seattle’s DJ Explorateur (vinyl enthusiast Valerie Calano) has been a key figure in Seattle’s thriving fringe music scene as a DJ and curator. Her deep knowledge of psychedelia, electronic, new age, ambient music, funk, jazz, and other genres has led to gigs with a diverse list of major acts including Animal Collective, Faust, Floating Points, and Laurel Halo, as well as compiling playlists for Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival. In 2013, directors of the EMP Pop Conference acknowledged Explorateur’s expertise by asking her to participate in a panel discussion about record collecting, and she was included in Eilon Paz’ 2014 book Dust & Grooves: Adventures in Record Collecting. She was a co-producer of Hypnotikon Festival, and her affinity for blissfullycurated selections is on full display at her night Rare Air, a unique and immersive ambient event at Q Nightclub featuring live music, DJs and visuals. She is also a member of the dark electronics collective False Prophet, resident DJ on Hollow Earth Radio’s Yonic Boom show, and a member of Seattle’s TUF collective. A seriously dedicated DJ, she is never not striving to increase her awareness—and procurement—of life-changing music.
