The tour will begin and end at the Sunny Arms Artist Cooperative at 707 S. Snoqualmie St.
For the January edition of COLLECT, we will visit the studio of artist Kate Sweeney at the Sunny Arms Artist Cooperative. From Kate's website, "My current work combines printmaking, digital techniques and various painting media. Cut forms have always been part of it. I don't think in rectangles, but shapes. The edge excites me. Like cave paintings, there are no borders, so form can move into the surrounding space." Kate is represented by SAM Gallery and she is the founder of Satellite Seattle, "designed to showcase and celebrate the richness of arts culture in Seattle." Learn more about Kate here http://katesweeneyfineart.
Next, we will visit SAM Gallery for Art Collecting 101, a workshop that will answer questions such as, "Have you ever wondered why people collect art and how they go about doing it?"

In addition, SAM Gallery presents: Start Now. "This show is for anyone who wants to start a fine art collection and isn't sure how to get started. These artists are providing new work at accessible prices for new collectors or anyone looking to add a new artist to their collection."

New: Third Stop Added! Join us for a special sale of over 50 works on paper created by Liz Tran at various resdencies around the world. All pieces will be priced at $500 and below, providing a great opportunity for all to collect a piece of Liz's work. 30% of sales will go to NARAL.
The January tour will include special guest Chef Tarik Abdullah, a Seattle-based chef known for his exciting pop-up restaurants focused on Mediterranean cuisine, who will curate one-of-a-kind culinary experiences to complement the COLLECT tour. He was chosen by internationally famed cultural figure and chef Anthony Bourdain for the competitive cooking show on ABC, "The Taste."
