Building a Solid Takate Kote Stem
The Takate Kote can be broken down into a couple important components: the stem, with the column tie, the bands, and the kannukis. The stem, however, is fundemental to the entire structure. Without a good solid stem you risk slack entering the system and creating a sloppy, and unsafe takate kote.

This class will focus on the construction of that stem. How we build it, how we know that it is solid, and how we fix any potential issues. There is no one right way to build a stem but there are many wrong ways. We will break down each component of the stem and walk through how we tie it and why we tie any particular way.

Our goal is to build a very solid takate kote that will help you feel more comfortable using it for suspension.

Prerequisite: A good understanding of the takate kote pattern. Even if you are still learning the TK there is value in the class but we are not teaching the TK.

Takate Kote and the Third Rope

After spending lots of time learning the takate kote what is next? It is time to learn the third rope. The first thing we will learn is that the third rope doesn't necessarly mean you have three ropes. It is all depdendent on your bottom and the length of your rope. The third rope is more than decorative. It provides stability and structure for your TK. We will go through each of the frictions of the third rope and how it is placed. This class will cover at least three variations of the third rope.

With the rest of the time we will talk about what to do with extra rope. It is very common to have extra rope but what do you do with it? The extra rope gives us all kinds of fun possibities and I hope when we finish you don't see the rope as a liability but as an opportunity to play.

Raymond has been a part of the Seattle BDSM community since 2006. Starting when he got his first piece of rope and sat down with the Twisted Monk video, Raymond has spent years perfecting his true passion in rope bondage. It all started with western bondage to eventually join Suspended Animation in 2010. He spent years teaching and providing bondage rides as part of Suspended Animation. In 2012, the art of japanese style erotic bondage called to him. He has traveled around the world, including Japan, to train with the greats in Japanese bondage.

Focusing on his partner, Raymond relishes in the erotic connection that bondage can bring. Rope can be soft and it can be hard, or some of both. The important thing is bringing out the beauty of your partner.
