This event has passed.

Back by popular demand, Ada’s has again teamed up with the Volunteer Park Conservatory and Burke Museum of Natural History to bring you our second Drawing Lab: Botanicals and Animals!

Join art instructor Kai Carpenter as helps you hone your life-drawing skills. All levels of experience are welcome. Kai Carpenter is a Seattle-based illustrator and fine artist. You can see his work at www.kaicarpenterart.com, or on instagram at kt.carpenter.

Kai will teach you how to start, structure, and finish a drawing from life. The techniques you'll cover can be applied to anything - plant, animal, or otherwise!

You’ll be working with a curated collection of skulls and furs from the Burke Museum of Natural History, as well as several hand selected plants from Volunteer Park Conservatory’s head gardener, David Helgeson. We’ll provide all the supplies needed, including a list of custom cocktails to complement the evening.

Doors are at 5:15pm, workshops begin promptly at 5:45pm and 8:00pm. Workshops consist of 60 minutes of guided instruction, followed by 60 minutes of continued drawing with support. Guests are welcome to stick around and draw through both sessions, as space allows.

A portion of all ticket sales will be given to the Conservatory and Burke Museum to help support their ongoing programs.
