Please join The Westerlies at the Royal Room on January 3rd as they preview the music of their debut album, Wish The Children Would Come On Home, featuring the music of Wayne Horvitz, and set for release in March 2014 on Songlines Recordings. Proceeds from this concert will support the production costs of the album.

The Westerlies are a New York-based brass quartet comprised of four friends from Seattle. They stretch the limits of conventional chamber music by emphasizing original composition and improvisation, and creating music that resides in the ever-narrowing gap between contemporary classical composition, jazz- influenced improvisation, and North American folk music. In addition to their own performances, The Westerlies have collaborated with Wayne Horvitz, Dave Douglas, Bill Frisell, and Juilliard Dance, seeking to present chamber music as an organic and dynamic means of artistic expression in the 21st century.

The Royal Room is All Ages until 10 pm.

Please note: tickets do not guarantee a seat to shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show.
