The second program of the opening weekend hosts Art Modern Line Dance Theater (Russia) in a Dostoyevsky-like tale and Rachel Barker (Charlotte, NC) with a kitschy but intimate dance work.

Art Modern Line Dance Theater (Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia) offers a work premiered in their home city and directed by Tatiana Frolova with the currently Seattle-based Sergei Burlak (also Russian), this work depicts an enigmatic world of invisible state control reminiscent of a Kafka or Dostoyevsky novel. As much theater as dance, audiences are certain to see aspects of their own lives in this tightly packed work eliciting pathos and beauty.

Rachel Barker (Charlotte, NC) offers a journey through disparate emotional states and happenings in her new work, Welcome. At once humorous and desperate, Welcome explores themes of vulnerability and "human-ness", while questioning the roles of performer and the boundaries of the fourth wall.
