Inking with Nibs & Penholder, Hatching & Point/Dot Shading Workshop
Tools: Waterproof black ink, Pen/Nib Holder, Nibs (recommend 512 w/ standard holder and 102/107 w/ crowquill holder), paper (bristol, mixed media or other thicker paper), pencil, Optional: more nibs!
Prep: Have an object or photo to reference, it should be something fairly simple with distinct value differences (very dark and very bright areas)
In this workshop we'll start with how to draw your object with pencil to make hatching and shading simpler. We'll then work with the nibs and inking, learning how to use the different options. Our goal will be to create a drawing of our object with distinct value differences recognizable as the object.
This class will happen over Zoom. Students will be able to see the instructor and what the instructor is working on. Video and audio is optional for students, but encouraged. You will get a link to the class meeting and any handouts or prep by the day before. Start time is set, but end time is approximate.
Classes are limited to 15 students to provide each attendee with feedback and attention. You can contact info@pushpullseattle.com for questions about student discounts and private class bookings.
