Choose the Right Theme to Make Your Script Stand Out
Which script is more valuable to Hollywood?
A script with a great theme, or a script without one? Join us for an in-depth conversation and interactive presentation about the single biggest differentiator any writer can bring to their story: THEME.
· What is theme?
· How to master the principles of theme
· How theme fits into classic story structure
· Ways to identify your theme
· How to incorporate theme into every aspect of your story
Submit the first 10 pages of your screenplay to events@nwsg.org before August 16. Selected scripts will be reviewed in a class exercise (not all scripts will be selected). During the exercise we’ll look for each story’s theme, suggest a theme or search for opportunities to make the theme stronger.
Experienced and first-time writers alike will take away valuable information. It’s a big subject, so bring your questions.
