An Intimate Evening with Eight Bells

Fri, Nov 6, 2020 at 7pm

This event has passed.

Please join us for our first winemaker dinner of 2020, featuring our good friends at Seattle's own Eight Bells Winery!  They'll be here on Friday, Nov. 6th, pouring and chatting about five of their wines, each paired with a course created by Chef Hattie.  All wines will be available for sale after dinner.

Guests will enjoy five half-glasses of wine, appetizer, small plates and dessert.  Eight Bells will give a brief introduction to each wine, and you're welcome to ask them questions about the wine, the winery, or perhaps the 2020 harvest.

Here's the draft menu (final version may include some changes):

Appetizer - Squash soup, duck confit, crispy parsnip, chive oil

Appetizer - Spiced potato & cheese croquette, scallion hollandaise, microgreen salad

Small Plate - Grilled halibut, toasted fregola, romanesco, tomato-caper sauce

Small Plate - Apricot-tarragon stuffed pork loin, shallot flan, brussels

Dessert - Chocolate mousse tart cake, hazelnut crust, caramelized orange

Vegetarian option:

Appetizer - Squash soup, toasted lemon gremolata, crispy parsnip, chive oil

Appetizer - Herbed potato croquette, tomato-basil ricotta, microgreen salad

Small Plate - Spinach gnocchi, toasted fregola, Romanesco, tomato-caper sauce

Small Plate - Wild mushroom & farro cakes, tart apricot crème, brussels

Dessert - Chocolate mousse tart cake, hazelnut crust, caramelized orange

A vegan menu is available, as well.

To keep this event as safe as possible, The Barrel Thief is:

  • limiting attendance to 20 total guests
  • providing abundant space / barriers between tables
  • adhering to strict sanitation practices
  • requiring guests to wear masks when not seated at their tables
  • providing thorough ventilation and HEPA 13 air filtration

Due to the very limited seating, we're only selling tickets by the table, including tables of two and tables of four.  We apologize if the table size you're interested in is not available...the sparse layout requires us to ensure full capacity at each table.  Tickets are $100 per person (plus taxes & fees), but are sold by the table.

The wines (and the people who make them) are our main focus of the evening, as well as Hattie's culinary delights.  We're also offering a tasty French brandy pairing with dessert...tasting pours of a Cognac, a Calvados, and an Armagnac from The Barrel Thief's brandy menu.  This tasting flight is available for an additional $25 if you want the ultimate Friday night.

We're tickled to host Eight Bells as our first on-premise event since March, and we'll be working hard to make this a beautiful, fun, tasty, and safe evening.  We hope you can join us!
