Fancy Scotch

We decided to squeeze in one last Seattle Whiskey Collective Zoom tasting in December: Fancy Scotch. All (except for one imposter) are independently bottled, single cask & cask strength, and all are new to the shop.
* Blair Athol 20 Yr (45% ABV) [bottled by John Milroy] - $250 retail (with all taxes)
Typically a component of Bell's Whisky, this Highland Malt is rarely found bottled over 12 years of age. A finesse Scotch to start with.
* Imperial 23 Yr (45%) [Single Malts of Scotland] - $500
Imperial closed for good in 1998, the year after this single malt was distilled, and the distillery was razed a few years back to make room for Dalmunach Distillery. Every Imperial I've ever tried has been just stunning.
* Bruichladdich Black Art 08.1 (45%) - $490
A little out of place with the independent single casks here, but we didn't get to try it with the Octomores, so here it is. Should be a beauty.
* Isle of Arran 23 Yr (47%) [PM Spirits] - $220
This is actually 24 years old, but labeled as a 23 year because it took them so long to start bottling it. From when Arran was a shiny, new distillery. Finished in a Cognac cask. A treat!
* Highland Park 14 Yr (60%) [Single Malts of Scotland] - $220
I've loved all of the independent bottlings of Highland Park that I've tried in the past, and expect this one to rock. A big, punchy one to end with.
Tasting kits with 0.5-oz pours of each of the above will be available for pick-up at The Barrel Thief on Tuesday, Dec. 15th. Tickets are very limited, so grab one if this floats your boat!
