Introduction to French Brandies

Please join the Alliance Française de Seattle, The Barrel Thief, and Beauchamp Imports for an exclusive virtual tasting celebrating the brandies of France: Cognac, Armagnac, and Calvados. A tasting kit of five 0.5 oz samples, plus an artisanal cocktail tonic, will feature brandies produced on family-owned estates located in the finest terroirs in France.
Looking for an introduction to the world of French Brandies—smooth Cognac, robust Armagnac, and complex Calvados? Or just interested in tasting these three brandies side by side? This event will guide you through tasting and understanding the famous and well-loved brandies of France.
Hosted by the Alliance Française of Seattle in partnership with The Barrel Thief and Beauchamp Imports, with special guest Joan Harkins of Beauchamp Imports. Joan will introduce you to the world of brandy through five different premium French brandies.
Joan is Beauchamp Imports' founder and Chief Brandy Enthusiast who will explore brandy's rich history and how and where it is made, touch briefly on global traditions, plus share profile and pairing insights to these exquisite spirits. Brandy has a long and important history in the world of spirits, and you will leave this Zoom tasting with a new appreciation for it, plus a cocktail recipe or two!
Featuring brandies produced on family-owned estates located in the finest terroirs in France, this tasting kit includes five 0.5 oz samples of brandies and one sample of an artisanal cocktail tonic:

- Tonic artisanal cocktail tonic syrup
The tasting kits will be available starting the week before the event begins. Available by pick-up only at The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar located in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. The Zoom Meeting link will be e-mailed to attendees a few days before the tasting.
