With his 2022 release "Love & Harm" Blau brings the fruits of his previous country efforts (Introducing Karl Blau) to the table alongside the subtley strange and very NW sound he's been cultivating for 25 years. At the Royal Room show you'll hear the colorful pedal steel of Jon Hyde (1 Uppers) mesh with LAKE member Andrew Dorsett's wailing keyboard style, the inimitble drums of Evan Woodle (Heatwarmer), and Karl's brother Eddy Blau's trumpet, euphonium and guitar.
Karl Blau is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and DIY icon who helped turn his hometown of Anacortes, Washington, into an indie-music mecca. He has released more than 40 records in 20-odd years, many self-released in handmade packaging and mailed to subscribers, and others on iconic indie Northwest labels K and knw-yr-own. Blau has also toured and recorded for years with Laura Veirs, the Microphones, Little Wings, D+, and Earth.
