Meet us on Joy Street for Masquerade XIII!

8:30 pm Doors/Opening Act/Dancing Starts
9:00 pm Joy Street Orchestra — Three Sets
12:30 am Good Night

The best variety dance imaginable: a 4-hour evening featuring the Joy Street Orchestra, with chanteuse Dina Blade, diva Lucia Neare and Rockin’ Rafe Wadleigh—plus a surprise opening act. Expect Swing, R & B, Latin, Waltzes, 50s Rock ‘n’ roll, Foxtrots, Quicksteps, Blues and more.

Remember: The Masquerade is not a “couples dance” — indeed the whole premise of a Masquerade is to dance with as many mysterious strangers as you can hold in your arms…wonder who they might be…and see what magic transpires.

This year’s theme is “Icons & Iconoclasts.” Dress like one. Or not. Up to you. Everyone’s welcome on Joy Street.

The only rule: Everyone must wear a mask of some kind — even painted on with stage paint — until early in the second musical set.

Indeed, some dancers attend with nothing more than a .99-cent Lone Ranger mask from the Dollar Store. (Some masks available at the door for $5.)

ABOUT TICKETS

Above, you’ll see three ticket prices. They all get you the same grand experience.

Because Seattle-area dances are seeing drops in attendance of 40 to 70 percent, most venues are raising prices. And because everyone was affected differently by the pandemic, we want the Masquerade to be accessible to as many dancers as possible, so we’re keeping the basic ticket price the same as it was in 2020: $65.

For those of you who are able dig a little deeper to support the 28 musicians, artists and theatrical professionals who create this special evening, buying a “sponsor” or “patron” ticket lets you do just that.

What’s the perk when you spend $10 or $20 more? Simple: You’ll know you’re supporting the many artists and musicians who make our Masquerade magical, as well as supporting our beloved Century Ballroom.

As always, we’ll do our very best to balance for Leads and Follows.
