Cherrie Adams and the Forman-Finley Band, a jazz quintet, started playing together in 2014.  Cherrie, a longtime music educator for Seattle Public Schools in southeast Seattle, was happy to return to her roots singing jazz, and playing a variety of club dates and concerts.   Cherrie and the band had a monthly gig at Capitol Cider for 6 years, played regularly at North City Bistro, Jazz festivals, house concerts, and private events right up until the covid pandemic.  They also recorded the CD “Only Trust Your Heart” in 2015.

Cherrie’s warm, pure tone and understated, conversational style combined with her deep connection with the music, all contribute to her compelling authentic style.  The band with Steve Forman-Guitar, Paul Finley-piano, Rick Leppanen-bass, and Jeff Busch-drums help each song find fresh and often surprising moments through their arrangements of both jazz standards and original music.  Also on this show will be a frequent guest of the band, Clif Swiggett on trombone.

This show is a fundraiser for Front and Centered, who will share the proceeds with Nurturing Roots.

Front and Centered. "Front and Centered is a diverse and powerful coalition of communities of color-led groups across Washington State, whose missions and work come together at the intersection of equity, environmental and climate justice."
