Max and Lover's Lair Present Fundamentals of Rope Bondage - Part 2
This second part of the Fundamentals class focuses on tying your bottom to something and on becoming more fluid, comfortable, and confident.
We'll cover several new knots, many positions, and we'll have lots of time for hands-on practice.
Coming with a practice partner is helpful, but not necessary. Most of the in-class practice can be done on yourself or around an inanimate object like a chair.
Part 1 of the Fundamentals of Rope class is NOT a prerequisite to this class - these are additional, complimentary skills, and a chance to practice all of these skills in a safe and supervised environment. We do recommend taking both parts if you can.
Workshop format
This workshop starts out with demos and opportunities for practice.
We'll be covering the fast and effective one and two-column ties that Max uses in his personal play, and all the ways you can use them to build beautiful, restrictive, and/or stressful positions.
We'll also cover several ways to attach a person to an object, whether it's a bed, an overhead point, or some other "hard point". Attaching your bottom to a fixed point can substantially change the physicality and the emotional tone of the scene.
Much of the workshop consists of structured opportunities to practice, with Max and his assistant available to help you whenever you get stuck.
By the end of the workshop you will have solid "basic rope" skills, and will be able to use rope in many different ways.
If you can, come with a practice partner. If you don't have a partner, come anyway and we'll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques.
Some rope will be provided for the workshop, but bring the following if you can:
- (1) 10-foot piece of 6mm or 8mm
- (1) 30-foot piece of 6mm or 8mm
As always, the emphasis is on learning and having fun.
Who should attend?
No prior knowledge of bondage or knots is assumed for this class - it's perfectly appropriate for beginners. If you've already done some bondage it's a great way to tune up your technique.
Max's "Fundamentals of Rope Bondage - Part 1" is NOT a prerequisite - the classes are designed to be complementary. If you can, take both for more complete coverage of the "Fundamentals".
This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.
You may attend alone or with a partner. Please buy a ticket for each attendee.
Rope Bottoms - it's your body being tied - knowing some bondage technique will substantially decrease risk and add to your enjoyment. Also - this is your chance to meet some rope tops - come learn and get tied up!
Afterwards
Attendees will receive an illustrated handout full of principles, safety information, basic technique, and plenty of pictures and instruction to help you practice the knots and ties in this workshop.
Attendees will also receive a 20% discount for purchases at Lover's Lair.
Max will be available after the workshop to help you shop for rope and bondage gear.

If you cancel your registration up to 2 days before the event you will receive a full refund.
If we cancel the event you will receive a 100% refund, to include ticketing fees.
Agreements
No smoking or vaping inside.
- Refrain from wearing perfumes, oils, and scented products as some of us are chemically sensitive.
COVID protocols
We are navigating the current guidelines and our own sense of safety and reasonableness. The protocol for this event is based on our own research and risk assessment; we encourage you to do the same before you purchase your ticket.
There is no vaccination requirement for this event. Max is vaccinated and boosted and recommends that you be vaccinated to reduce the severity of your illness if you get sick. Unvaccinated people 12 and older are 17 times as likely to die from Covid as vaccinated and boosted people.
Masks will not be required. You may, of course, wear a mask if you wish.
Please do not attend if you are exhibiting COVID symptoms or you are exposed to someone who has tested positive in the 14 days before the event.
Testing before attending events is a good way to protect each other. Max tests before each event. If you can, please test before you come to class.
