A Devised Companion to Camelot
A devised companion to Camelot, Arthuriana is a Queer reimagining of the Arthurian canon, following two knights: Lancelot's illegitimate son Galahad, "greatest of knights, purest among men," and Mordred, King Arthur's infamous bastard. But there is more to these men and their stories than even they know, and as the two narrative foils rush headlong down the path to the court of the Fisher King, tension rises - between them, their desires, and the many possible interpretations of their tale.
Weaving tales of Merlin and Nimue, the Lady of Shalott, and the White Hart into the quest, the Magpie Ensemble explores the depth and breadth of the rich Arthurian tradition - delving into centuries of subtext to tell fresh yet timeless tales that speak to modern Queer audiences.
Content Notes: contains sexual themes, onstage violence, and strong language. Recommended for ages 15 and up.
