Winter Formal Social Dances

Step into the sparkle of the season at Reverie Ballroom’s Winter Formals! Each evening will feature a different social dance style in full Formal Attire, whatever that means to you. From glittering gowns to pressed vintage suits or fabulously “ugly” sweaters, this is your chance to bring a bit of glamour and whimsy to the dark days of Seattle winter.
We’ll have live bands, featured DJs, a festive photo booth, and halls decked with candles and gifts to make the nights festive and bright. You may be celebrating a holiday, the solstice, or the simple joy of community. Either way, everyone is welcome.

Feel the vibrant energy of DJ Edgar “El Travieso” and DJ JoJoLA lift your spirits in the salsa room, while DJ Centeno and DJ Arnold ignite the rhythm in the bachata room. This is not merely an event; it’s a celebration of joy and self-expression! We eagerly await the chance to share this unforgettable night with you!

Purchasing ahead allows you to take advantage our our VIP ticket that assures easy entry, VIP lounge seating and a specialty cocktail from Art Table. 'Tis the season for giving, and $10 from this ticket will go towards our Reverie Dance Class Scholarship fund for those who can't afford taking classes otherwise.
Age Requirement: 21+
Beginner Drop-In Lesson: 8:30pm to 9:30pm (included with the VIP ticket, additional charge for General Admission)
Social Dance: 9:30pm to 1:00am

Lindy Hop is one of the original Swing dances, made famous in the ballrooms of Harlem. Danced to a wide range of tempos, the music is traditionally big band Swing from the golden era of Jazz. Improvisation and rhythmical play are tied to Lindy Hop’s styling and spirit.
Age Requirement: All Ages
FREE Drop-In Beginner Lesson: 9:00pm to 9:30pm
Social Dance: 9:30pm to 12:00am

West Coast Swing Winter Formal

West Coast Swing is a smooth, modern swing dance with roots in Lindy Hop. It is danced to almost every kind of music including R&B, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Blues. It is a partner dance of personal expression for both lead and follow, allowing you to style it funky, jazzy, slinky, or swingin’. Known for its fun rhythm changes and improvisation, this is a great dance to have in your social repertoire.
Beginner Lesson: 9:00pm to 9:30pm
Social Dance: 9:30pm to 12:30am
Music: Special Guest DJ TBA
Price: FREE Beginner Lesson, $15 for Dance ($5 with a valid student ID for all DJed events)
