Welcome to the new evolution of The Whole Body & Mind Self Care Series: Self Care Interventions!

Self Care Interventions is a new series of classes, workshops, and discussions aimed at supporting you with actionable & targeted strategies, techniques, and resources to managing chronic pain and illness at home.

About SCI: Hands to Shoulders (Online)

This class was first launched in 2024 as a solution to getting tried and true self care education out to those struggling with chronic pain. These are everyday techniques and strategies that Aera uses to manage their hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, and Repetitive Strain pains.

Pain has multiple dialects. Pain is universal as a concept, but it is not always universal in how it is perceived or managed. This class recognizes this, and goes straight to the source - rather than grind on muscles or rely on stretching to relieve pain, we go to the nervous system!

In this class we will learn about self care interventions for the entire brachial plexus (nerves in the neck that go into the hand) and for the entire shoulder, including the armpit releases that Aera has had to rely on for managing a major source of referring pain into the forearm and hand.

This is an all ages class, but is not suitable for very little children who have not developed their motor control.

Attendees of this class will receive a $15 off ticket code to use in future classes.

Online Class Guidelines and what to expect

This class is online, and there's a few guidelines to keep in mind:

1. Please arrive on time! We will give everyone 5 minutes to settle in, but after that, we will begin the class.
2. Class will be recorded and sent to all ticket holders.
3. Please stay on topic in class. There will be body breaks and time for Q&A. Please hold questions until the designated sections so we can keep the class organized. Write your questions down if you think you'll forget.
4. For this class, wear breathable clothing, tank tops, or short sleeves are best.
5. You will be asked to leave if there are inappropriate comments made, harassment/hostility towards others, or any other intentionally disruptive behavior, including unwelcome political discussion.
6. Please do not share the class video, techniques, or pass any of the knowledge off as your own. This is not a certification of any kind, these are for you to do at home for yourself.

Refund Policy & Newsletter

Refunds are not given if you are asked to leave, or if you do not come to the class (the class is e-mailed to you afterwards).

By purchasing a ticket, you understand that (and consent to) your e-mail address will be added to The Better Baseline Bulletin, a newsletter that sends our discount codes for future classes, articles, and other information, including quarterly provider spotlights for the local Seattle area. You can unsubscribe at any time.
