The Karin Kajita Jazz Quintet, led by pianist Karin Kajita was formed in 2024. The Quintet plays little known and seldom heard hard bop tunes with trumpet/sax front line in the style of the Jazz Messengers or Clifford Brown/Max Roach, stretching to Sun Ra, jazz fusion and Karin’s original tunes. In the second set, vocalist Angela Petrucci joins the Quintet for “Broadway in Blue”, applying her unique jazz styling to well known and beloved show tunes.
