Acclaimed NYC-based electric guitarist and songwriter Leni Stern returns to Seattle with an all star quartet of bassist James Genus (SNL Band/Herbie Hancock), keyboardist Leo Genovese (Wayne Shorter/Esperanza Spalding) and griot master musician Senegalese percussionist Alioune Faye. Stern is celebrating the release of her newest album 'Dakar Suite', a journey into the roots of jazz and blues in Senegalese traditional rhythms.
Todd Clouser w/ Tarik Abouzied, Galen Clark & Damian Erskine plays Captain Beefheart and more.
Mexico City guitarist Todd Clouser (A Love Electric) will be joined by Tarik Abouzied (Happy Orchestra, Mctuff), Galen Clark (Trio Subtonic) and Damian Erskine to play shows in Seattle, Portland, Eugene & Ashland!
"Todd Clouser doesn't fit into any scene, and doesn't want to" says NPR.
Guitarist, poet, songwriter, Mexico City resident Todd Clouser, a genre-defying voice on the international creative music scene, sets out on a first of its kind tour across Asia, Europe, and the Americas performing the music of late great Captain Beefheart and his own music in intimate settings. The Clouser concert is a look into the mind of a young artist creating a legacy all his own in music’s history of evolution, though this time Clouser does so by looking back to carry us forward in a moving tribute to one of his heroes. “Captain Beefheart was of course unique and provocative and a character, but there is something heavier in his embrace of the surreal. Its the pulling of the curtain to reveal the circus we all know we live in“ says Clouser.
