Rapture: Competition Edition

Timbre Room & Arson Nicki are proud to present the COMPETITION EDITION installment of Rapture: A Queer Avant Garde Extravaganza.

Rapture is a queer evening for avant-garde experimentation, boundary-bursting drag performance, and overall club kid dance vibes. There will be photos and a curated runway for attendees, so get. your. look.

*Show Format:* 

For this Special Edition of Rapture, we invite performers to compete for the first-ever performance residency at Rapture. The winner will receive a paid spot to perform one number per month on the Rapture stage through the end of January 2019. All performances will be spread throughout the evening, so come early and stay late!

*Entry Rules:* 

To enter the preliminary round, please post a photo in the event of yourself wearing your best drag. You may introduce yourself using the text field if you so choose. Please keep any intros to three sentences or less. IMPORTANT: the photo *must* showcase your look from the top of your head/hair/hat/headpiece/etc. to the bottom of your feet/footwear.

Please do not enter the preliminary round if you know you will not be able to be at the Timbre Room for the final round of competition from 9:45pm-2am on September 8th. The final round will require at least two performances from contestants (see below for more info).

Entries open August 9th and close at 11:59pm August 19th.

*Judging Format:*

Six total contestants will be chosen from the preliminary round to compete in the final round at the show on September 8th. The two contestants who have the most reactions on their posted photos will automatically move on to the final round. After those contestants are determined, the judges will choose two more contestants to move on. Arson will choose the last two.

Judges and Arson will judge based on the quality of the look alone. Photo quality will not be taken into consideration, but make sure all of the details you want to be seen are clearly visible.

Please do not take out any paid ads to campaign for reactions. Only the amount of reactions (likes, hearts, etc.) will be taken into consideration for the first two contestant choices, as opposed to the amount of shares or comments.

Details regarding the final round will be announced once preliminary round judging is complete and final round contestants are confirmed.

*Music Format:*

DJs are asked to bring their favorite genre(s) in an open format setting.
