Hugo Literary Series 2018-19 Series Pass
Fri, Sep 28, 2018 at 7:30pm
A series pass includes tickets to all Hugo Literary Series events in the 2018-2019 series, including the fall events below. Winter and spring Literary Series events will be announced in the coming months.
For the 2018-19 season of Hugo Literary Series — the first in our new home — we're looking back to look forward and asking the writers and musicians to create new things from the old. Each event within the series takes its theme from an iconic book — those whose titles have a resonance beyond the book itself.
Jim Shepard, Cedar Sigo, and Sabina Murray with music by Anhayla
"Brave New World" | September 28, 2018
Lauren Groff, R.O. Kwon, and Kim Fu with music by Shelby Earl
"Diving Into the Wreck" | November 9, 2018
All events start at 7:30 pm and take place at Hugo House.
Since October 2007, Hugo House has commissioned new writing and songs from a theme and writing prompt. The nights are collages of unexpected styles and different points of view, and the writers and musicians are encouraged to work without a sense of obligation, censorship, or stylistic frame. No one sees or hears the work before it is read or performed at the events for the very first time.
