Ryan Lonergan; 2018; USA; 80 min.

In this comic fantasia, Frankie (Jack Ball, HENRY GAMBLE’S BIRTHDAY PARTY, SLGFF 2015) becomes the third in the relationship of Patrick (writer-director Ryan Lonergan) and Sutton (Garrett McKechnie). But when Frankie mysteriously falls ill, the newly formed “throuple” decide to find the treatment he needs. Their cross-country journey mirrors everything from the founding of America, the Civil War, and the Great Depression to the Middle East conflict and American exceptionalism. Featuring stunning black-and-white photography, wickedly funny dialogue, lots of nudity and sex, and a premise that is literally one for the ages, KILL THE MONSTERS is a historical, absurdist delight.

Plays with:

Leandro Goddinho; 2017; Germany; 5 min.
