Determined to make radical change on the reservation where he grew up—the largest in the United States and plagued with widespread poverty and a lack of basic resources—Moroni Benally, a young, gay, Mormon professor at the University of Washington, launches an impassioned campaign for president of the Navajo Nation. The underdog candidate soon learns that theory is quite different than practice when it comes to down-and-dirty politics and challenging the status quo in this candid, honest examination of modern Native American life.
