Just in time for the Holidays, Orlando de Lange, SoundBio Lab and Ada's present Beneath the Mistletoe: The Lesser-Known Botany of Christmas. Come join us and learn more about the plants and fauna behind the traditional holiday festivities, all the while enjoying a few glasses of wintry cheer.

Arriving in Seattle from the UK, by way of Germany, presenter Orlando de Lange now spends his days researching plant immune systems at the University of Washington. By night, weekend, and any other free time he can be found at SoundBio, a community lab space in the University District where he leads a team of intrepid amateur plant scientists. The group, called The Oxalis Project (TOP), is using the humble Oxalis plants as a gateway to learning about DNA barcoding, micropropagation, plant hormone responses and much more. Get involved by emailing plants@sound.bio, and by coming to the event!
