It's the Spring King Salmon run! Cook Together at Cafe Hitchcock
with guest chef Brendan McGill

Sat, Apr 13, 2019 from 1pm - 4pm

This event has passed.

Cook Together celebrates wild, spring King Salmon! Learn from experienced chef, Jesse Barber, how to select, butcher, cure and cook these beautiful, local fish. Barber will put the knife in your hand and guide you through whole fish preparation - like roasting, making rillette, crudo, salt curing, even using the bones - and make many other accompanying dishes. Nutritionist, Keri Romerdahl, elaborates on the health benefits of eating these whole foods.

For this Cook Together, we welcome Food & Wine Magazine's 2013 Best New Chef Brendan McGill - Brendan hails from Alaska and has been cooking in Washington for over twenty years. We can't imagine anyone we'd rather share a cutting board with!

When we Cook Together, you'll learn foundational culinary techniques, glean valuable nutritional knowledge and have a blast in the kitchen! This is a hands-on experience and the cost of the ticket includes enjoying a family style feast that we create together. All recipes appear on our blog for reference and inspiration for future home cooking.

**Don't worry, wine will be available for purchase!

Cook Together is an experience brought to you by RoundGlass, meet the team:

Chef Jesse Barber is a renowned culinary genius who has spent time cooking at 3-star Michelin restaurants The French Laundry and Per Se. He's owned his own critically acclaimed restaurants in Los Angeles, and has taught countless global leaders how to enjoy cooking.

From our Nutritionist Keri Romerdahl"My interest in nutrition began with my mother – who had an intuitive understanding of food as medicine, and raised us this way. My decision to study nutrition came suddenly one day out of a broken heart for seeing so many of my friends and family die young.  Since medicine did not interest me, I decided food had to have something to do with it.  Now 10 or so years later, I think I was right. We are so much more than what we eat, but I’m convinced that our relationship with food and nature determines how well we enjoy the ride!"

Founder Michael Hebb has been hosting collaborative dinners for the past twenty years, teaching both chefs and non-cooks how to cook together and have a healthier relationship with their food.
